How to measure for Venetian Blinds
1 - Getting Started
This tried and true window furnishing is the great all rounder with classic design and robust materials. We've got a wide range of options within our venetian blind range in material, slat size and colours.
Have a read of these steps and you'll be well on your way to placing your order for brand new custom-made venetian blinds.

2 - Your Fitting
Venetian blinds look great when mounted within a window frame. Depending on your selected style, there are different allowances for minimum depth. So be sure to read the next step carefully.
3 - Recess Fit
Depending on your venetian selection, there are different minimum depth requirements for your window recess:
- Aluminium Venetians = 30mm
- Timber Venetians = 50mm
- 50mm PVC Venetians = 60mm
- 63mm PVC Venetians = 70mm
With your measuring tape, check the depth between the window pane and front edge of your window frame. If your window recess depth is less than your selected venetian depth, then face mounting is the best option.
4 - Measure the width
Using your measuring tape, measure the inside width of your window frame across the top. Your brackets will be installed at the exact width of your recess for the best light control and finish. Note down your width measurement.
Ensure to provide the exact recess width with no deductions, we’ll ensure the brackets and blind will fit perfectly.
5 - Measure the height
Measure the height of your recess by taking the exact measurement from the top of the recess to the bottom. Note down your height measurement.
6 - Control side
Take note of which side you’d like the cord to be on. It's better that the chosen side is free of obstructions and easy for you to access.
7 - You’re ready to order!
