2 - Your Fitting
You'll be mounting the roller blind brackets into the top corners of the recess. Ensure there's no obstructions which would prevent the roller blind from fitting. If you've got no fixings on the top of your frame and at least 50mm depth, you're good to go!
A key point for recess fit roller blinds is light control. As the blind sits within the recess, attached to two slim brackets, light will peak around the sides of the blind when it is closed. If you're hoping to maximise light control with a blackout roller blind in a bedroom, we recommend mounting the blind on the face of your window frame or frameless window.
3 - Check the depth
With your measuring tape, ensure there’s at least a 50mm depth between the window pane and front edge of your window frame. This is to ensure the roller blind brackets and blind can fit nicely within your frame. If you have window componentry like winders within the recess, ensure to front roll your roller blind to avoid contact.
If you have less than 50mm depth within your recess, we'd recommend a face fit mounted roller blind instead.
4 - Measure the width
Using your measuring tape, measure the inside width of your window frame across the top. Your brackets will be installed at the exact width of your recess for the best light control and finish. Note down your width measurement.
Ensure to provide the exact recess width with no deductions, we’ll ensure the brackets and blind will fit perfectly.
5 - Measure the height
Measure the height of your recess by taking the exact measurement from the top of the recess to the bottom. Note down your height measurement.
6 - Control side
Take note of which side you’d like the chain to be on. It's better that the chosen side is free of obstructions and easy for you to access.
If ordering motorised roller blinds, you'll need to recharge your blinds twice per year. It’s best to pick the side you can easily access at the top of the window, where the charging port is located.
